If the violation is found to warrant action, the instructor should notify the student and forward the materials to the dean of students, where a record of all offenses will be kept on file. The first violation may incur sanctions and would result in a meeting with the dean of students to discuss the violation and educational consequences. The second or further offense may involve more serious sanctions, including the possibility of a period of suspension or dismissal from the University. Incidents of suspension from the University become part of the student's permanent file and will be reported to other institutions or agencies that inquire about the student's disciplinary record.
